Description (Service) COVID-19 Response
Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, services can be canceled at a moments notice, please call for confirmation.

Regular Service
Homecare Services include:
  • Supports for older adults and adults with disabilities to help people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible
  • Culturally appropriate services
  • Needs assessments conducted by community nurses
  • Lighthouse keeping and meal preparation
  • Personal Care
  • Loan cupboard provides community members with short term loan of homecare equipment and supplies as needed, call for details
  • Personal alarm system (Lifeline)
Community support services include:
  • Congregate dining and hot meal lunch program offered at various times each month, contact for dates
  • escorted transportation for grocery shopping offered twice monthly
  • caregiver support, information, education and training provided in group or individual sessions

Service Details

Hours Nurses available: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Telephone and in-person reception services: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon and 1 pm-4:30 pm
Areas Served Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation
Eligibility Most programs available to all Chippewas of Nawash band members. Loan cupboard is for Chippewas of Nawash community members.

Fees None - services are free but fee applies for personal alarm system.
