Description (Service)

Promotes sports training and competition opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Provides opportunities for individuals to:

  • develop physical fitness
  • demonstrate courage
  • experience success
  • develop skills and friendship with their families, other special Olympic athletes and the community

Activities include a variety of indoor and outdoor sports including:

  • alpine skiing
  • 5-pin bowling
  • basketball
  • curling
  • golf
  • pickleball

Athletes participate at local, regional, provincial, national and world levels.

Eligibility Ages: 8 year(s) and up Individuals with an intellectual disability eight years and up.

Individuals under the age of eight may be able to participate in Active Start and FUNdamental multisport programs based on availability.
