Description (Service) For individuals unable to complete their income tax and benefit return themselves and are unable to pay for assistance, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) may be able to assist. Volunteers can help complete the income tax and benefit return if income is low and tax situation is simple. 
 
Will complete prior and current year returns.

Hours 9 am to 4 pm
Dates 2019 appointments available on following dates: 
Mar 3, Mar 9, Mar 10, Mar 16, Mar 17, Mar 30, Mar 31, April 13, April 14, April 27, Apr 28
Areas Served Bruce County ; Grey County
Eligibility These suggested maximum income levels should serve as a guideline only. 
 
Single: Up to $35,000 
Married or common law: Up to $45,000 
One adult with child: Up to $40,000 (Add $2,500 per additional child) 
 
Interest income limited to under $1,000 
 
Local community organizations have the flexibility to adjust or set additional eligibility criteria for taxpayers based on the local economic environment, the population they serve, and their own capacity. 
 
Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as: 
 
* returns for deceased persons; 
* individuals who file for bankruptcy; 
* self-employed individuals; 
* individuals who report capital gains or losses; or 
* individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses. 
 
Eligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP include: 
 
* Aboriginal peoples; 
* Low-income individuals and social assistance recipients; 
* Newcomers to Canada; 
* Seniors; and 
* Students
Application Call the office of Larry Miller, MP to request an appointment * leave a message for a volunteer who will return your call after 5 pm to arrange an appointment time * do not call Community Living office, all appointments and inquiries are arranged through office of Larry Miller 
 
If you are unable to call to arrange an appointment, walk in on clinic dates to book an appointment  
 
Cancellations: 2 business days notice prior to appointment date is required to cancel an appointment * no shows will lose the privilege of using the clinic
