Description (Service) Community development program provides education, consultation and community development services to foster networking and peer support among family members/loved ones of those with a serious mental illness and/or a substance abuse/addiction issue 
Services include: 
  • support for family members and/or friends of someone experiencing a mental illness and/or substance abuse/addiction issue 
  • information on mental illness, medications and resources 
  • facilitation of education and support groups 
  • help for family members trying to understand and navigate the mental health system 
  • packages of information and other resources on mental health, mental illness and related topics (through the Mental Health Resource Library) 
  • Family worker at Grey Bruce Health Services - Owen Sound Hospital, available for family members of those who are presenting at the hospital with a mental illness and/or substance abuse/addiction issue
